I’m Always Here For You, Friend

Life is painful sometimes
Life will force you to wake up and cry at 4am sometimes
The changes of seasons can even be a surprise
And not all surprises are the joyful kind

Some things never change abruptly
Like the anticipated winter season
While I can’t say what’s serendipity
It sure ain’t the frost biting and freez’n

Frostbites, cold nights
Nothing bites harder than goodbyes
When you’ve grown to love friends
Imagining no ends
To the days that you can spend
With them

When you’ve looked up to someone
Cherished the times with their loved ones
It’s hard to imagine goodbyes
And the see-you-later-next-times

Yet in Christ there are no goodbyes
There’s always the assurance of see-you-again
In Christ we’re always one, a bond so strong
That eternity has no end

There’s a silent affirmation of
I’m always here for you, friend
No matter how long, how wide, or how far
In Christ and through Christ, I am with you
There will never be an end
In Christ and through Christ, I’ll pray for you
Through the long days and nights
No matter where you are
In Christ and through Christ,
I’m always here for you, friend

Dancing With My Father

Life is a dance floor, this world is a ballroom
I dance hand in hand with my Father
The more I let Him lead and allow myself to follow
The more in tune and sync I am with Christ
The Holy Spirit taps the rhythm and beat
I begin to see the way He sees
And feel what He feels
What brings Him joy brings me joy
What brings Him sorrow brings me sorrow

The more in tune I am with God
The more life makes sense
While there is beauty in the melody
There is longing in the silence
The more I let Him lead and allow myself to follow
The more life makes sense

More is required of this dance
I’m called to trust in Him
Who leads the way for my feet
To move by tempo and rhythm

Who is this,
That leads the dance
As I follow every step?
I lift my eyes upon the One
Who I call my best friend

He is my Creator
My infinite song
My undying light
My inevitable joy
My unshakable peace
My steady foundation
He means everything to me

Life is a dance floor, this world is a ballroom
I dance hand in hand with my Father
The more in tune I am with God
The more life makes sense

Well done, my good and faithful servant

Father, give me Your faith
You are the Author and Perfecter of faith

Father, give me Your patience
That stretches to one end of the earth and back

Father, give me Your Holy Spirit
That I will not be a fruitless branch

Father, give me Your love
That I can overflow with and understand the depths of the grace that You’ve extended to me
And I can love others the way that You do

Father, give me Your hope and courage
With arms open wide
Let my heart be like clay
Into Your hands
That You mold me everyday
To be just like You

There is nothing more desirable that I long for
Than that a sinner like me can kneel before Your feet
After all the trials and storms
To possibly hold onto  f a i t h
That withstands the test of time
Not by my strength
But ’cause You stayed by my side

And faithfully
You will always be
One day, my knees shall meet Your feet
Jesus, please
I beg of this
That my ears will hear
“Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
I long for Your presence, Lord
